OPERATING RULES
- Any member is entitled to bring one guest per visit. Each guest is allowed a maximum of 3 visits per year to non public access shooting events. Access to public events such as Trap or Skeet are not restricted. The practice of bringing several friends to the range to shoot is not allowed unless authorized by the Executive Board for a one time exception.
- The automatic gate to the club grounds will be closed and locked behind members entering or leaving the premises. During exceptional times and public events, the gate will be programmed to open for predetermined periods of time. These exceptions include Monday evenings during Junior Program, Tuesday evenings during Greater Boston Pistol League, Wednesday evenings during Trap, Skeet, and High Power practices, Friday evenings during Smallbore Rifle Leagues, and Saturdays and Sundays during organized matches and practices.
- Vehicles should be parked well off main thoroughfares. Park responsibly so as many cars as possible can fit in the lot. No vehicle, except that of an official carrying supplies, is permitted at the 200 yard firing line during official shooting periods.
- “Any member whose conduct shall be adjudged by a majority of the Executive Committee to have been injurious to the interest or welfare of the corporation shall forfeit his membership and all rights in connection therewith…” Bylaws, Article VII
- Hunting is strictly prohibited on club property. We have deer, turkey, coyote, pheasant, ruffed grouse, woodcock, duck, squirrel, geese, rabbit and probably more that have been see on our property. DON’T BE TEMPTED!
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at all times except at certain functions authorized by the Executive Committee.
- Unattended children and pets may constitute a hazard on any range. Normally active youngsters distract serious shooters and are apt to dart into DANGEROUS areas. Parents are expected to keep children at their side under control at all times. Pets must be leashed at all times.
- No person under 18 years of age is permitted to shoot unless they are receiving DIRECT supervision from a parent or other range official.
- Badges shall be worn in a conspicuous position at all times on Reading Rifle & Revolver Club property.
- All firing must be done on ranges so designated for that type of firing, e.g. rifle ranges, pistol ranges, shotgun ranges, etc. Special permission of the Executive Committee is necessary for any deviation from the above.
- All guns on the range, when not in use must be cased or have the action open.
- The practice of placing foreign objects (can, bottles, etc.) on target racks is prohibited. Likewise, attaching targets to structural members of frames is prohibited. No targets will be placed on the ground.
- All outdoor shooting activities must conclude at sunset. Only club organized events under lights may occur post sunset.
